Hornsea society had not held any public meetings since the first lockdown, but even though infection rates in the Hornsea area are still above the national average we decided to resume our public meetings with effect from April 2022.

The first 3 meetings will however see a change in venue. There are several reasons behind this decision, but the most important, is keeping members and our visitors safe, and we did not feel that the URC Church Hall allowed for sufficient separation of those attending.

Our venue for these public meetings will therefore be the Methodist Church on Newbegin, which will allow more separation and has adequate parking nearby.

The May meeting will be held on Wednesday 18th May and will feature guest speaker Michelle Beadle who will be telling us about Aviation Pioneer Amy Johnson.

The June Meeting will be on Wednesday 15th June and the guest speaker will be the ever popular Paul Schofield, talking about Georgian Hull.

Membership fees remain at £10 but the entrance charge for visitors has increased to £3. Membership fees may be paid at the meeting but we will be obliged if for the time being any fees are paid in cash only.
